The course focuses on fundamentals of electrical measurements with modern electronic instruments such as an oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and DMMS, and lagacy instruments such as analog multimeters, power meters, etc. The course goes into detail how these instruments work and how we can leverage them to accurately measure parameters of interest.
At the end of the course, students are required to design an instrument of their own choice and then present their project at the end. Students are also required to make a project website and explain in detail how they constructed their project so that anyone can replicate their project using the info present on the website.
The first iteration of this course was offered in Spring 2015. The next iteration of this course is due in Spring 2016 in which we aim to further improve the course contents.
